Chrysalis

An artificial light fixture designed to emulate the organic fabrication of a cocoon inspired form. This biophilic design operates on the fundamental repetitive ravelling of a mesh-like layering production. The 3D-printing process operates in the same thread like wrapping and heating up technique as a natural cocoon.

This fabricated model encases the light bulb and resultantly produces a dynamic and organized Voronoi geometry of produced gaps within the thread of the structure.

Mediums: Rhino, Grasshopper, 3D Print using transparent foil
